What I love about Giana is whenever she writes about types of couples that are overdone, she always finds away to make them unique and Dead Man Walking is no different. The couple, Priest and Bea, are absolute perfection. Their personalities, their views contrast meld together beautifully. They’re light and day, but they embrace and love their differences, they don’t try to change each other or change completely for someone which I enjoyed greatly.
Bea is probably one of my favourite heroines of this year and The Fallen Men series. She’s sweet, loving and light but also tough and knows what she wants. She accepts her loved ones for who they are, doesn’t try to change anyone to match or benefit her which I love, and will do anything for her loved ones. The same can be said for Priest. He’s dark, bloody, protective, cold and, like Bea, he doesn’t do a complete 180, but he warms up to his shadow and learns to accept her love, to let her be his heart, his reason to live.
Their chemistry is insane and their relationship is not only extremely hot, but beautiful too, they will leave you tingling and swooning. Giana’s writing is absolutely incredible, each word makes you captivated and addicted. You feel like you’re a part of that world, you feel for the characters; you’re happy, sad, worry and root for the characters and especially the couple too. Like with the rest, Priest and Bea’s love in beautiful, steamy, dangerous and bloody but so so powerful. The connection they have is so special!
I highly recommend that you get Dead Man Walking. Giana does a perfect job about writing about the good and extreme darkness in some parts of religion, psychology and psychopaths, yin and yang relationships, sisterhood, bromances, death, murder and the mystery that comes with it, and the love that comes from and the importance of family, both blood and chosen. Dead Man Walking is steamy, suspenseful, dark, bloody, captivating, addictive, beautiful, romantic, emotional and extraordinary! I highly recommend Dead Man Walking and this freaking incredible series by the extremely talented, Giana Darling!
